Has Employee Time Clock Software Reached Its Evolutionary Endpoint?

Employee time clock software has undoubtedly made many advancements in recent years, especially in light of older methods. Most solutions are now web-based, making them incredibly easy to access from any device or location. They also boast many advanced features to automate nearly every part of the time tracking process.

However, several improvements can still be made to improve time tracking, time management, productivity, time theft, and security. There are several ways in which online time clock software is still advancing today and many ways that companies are implementing new facets of the technology.

Implants Can Improve Time Tracking

Perhaps the most significant way that employee time clock software can improve is in the area of accuracy and accountability. One way that this can be potentially addressed is through the use of implants into the hand or wrist. These implants would allow an employee’s location to be tracked and automatically punch a worker in or out when they arrive or leave a specific area.

One thing that this method would improve on is accurate timekeeping for employee hours. It would ensure that employees were paid for every amount of time they spent doing company business, commutes, and outside services that may not be directly tied to the office. In many cases, there is a discrepancy between hours worked due to travel time, handling business outside of the company premises, or unscheduled meetings and events that do not get logged through traditional time clock solutions. An implant would better track these occurrences and subsequently pay employees for them appropriately.

Employee Time Clock Software, Implants, and Security

Implants would also reduce time theft by allowing an employee to be actively tracked by location. This would ensure that an employee does not deviate from their designated task or perform personal errands while on the clock. Time theft is a significant concern for many businesses and can lead to lost productivity and employee disputes.

Another area that an implant would improve online timesheet software is employee security. As the implant would be tied directly to the employee, it would grant them access to their time clock, hours, and pay. Giving unique access to time cards and attendance information provides financial security to both the employee and the business.

This includes physical security, as well. Implants could be used to track employees and allow them access to pertinent information or areas of a business and keep critical systems and data more secure. It would also provide a log of who accessed a particular location or piece of information and when. Since the implants could not be duplicated, this offers extra security for businesses that deal with sensitive work.

As with any invasive technology, some concerns would need to be addressed regarding employee privacy. Employees would have to volunteer to willingly take the implant, and those who refuse shouldn’t be punished for doing so.

Integrations and Automation

Beyond implants, another way that employee time clock software can still improve is through new automatic features and integrations. Being able to automatically schedule an employee based on availability in the event of an absence, without the necessity for manual input could improve workflow and efficiency.

New payroll integrations could automatically process payments without the need for a payroll department or manager. This could include applications for employee raises and bonuses, which often need to be input manually. Further development in notifications, reminders, and employee scheduling could also be made through additional employee timesheet software improvements that integrate artificial intelligence capabilities.

So has employee time clock software reached its evolutionary endpoint? Absolutely not, as there are many ways the solution can be improved. You can expect to see implants and AI integration in the near future!
